(2008) in physics from Carleton University in Ottawa; Ph.D. (2011) in astrophysics from Caltech; Expertise Dr. Dmitriy Tseliakhovich has more than nine years of research experience in physics, cosmology, and aerospace engineering. He holds a M.Sc. degree in physics from Carleton University in Ottawa and a Ph.D. in astrophysics from Caltech. Dmitriy's technical expertise includes theoretical and experimental physics, experiment automation, development of large numerical simulations, CAD and digital prototyping. Dmitriy's life is devoted to opening space for large scale commercial, social and scientific exploration and his work is focused on novel technologies that will allow cheap and sustainable access to space. Dmitriy is also an alumnus of the Singularity University - a revolutionary post-graduate institution founded by Peter Diamandis and Ray Kurzweil with the goal to inspire and educate new generation of global leaders. |

RICHARD F. SCHADEN Co-Founder of Escape Dynamics, LLC Broomfield, CO Education Richard holds a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Detroit, attended graduate studies in Mechanical Engineering and Nuclear Physics at Wichita State, and has a Law Degree from the University of Detroit. Experience Richard F. Schaden is a serial entrepreneur with over thirty years of success in the private equity markets. Richard co-founded Escape Dynamics in 2010 with Dmitriy Tseliakhovich, Shaun Maguire and Joseph Meyerowitz, through Richard's technology investment firm, Beyond The Edge. Beyond the Edge was started by Richard in 2009 to help bring world-changing technological concepts from ideas to realities. Richard is a founding partner of Consumer Capital Partners which is a unique private investment, concept/brand development, & strategic advisory firm. Richard and his son Rick are the co-founders of the Quiznos and Smashburger restaurant chains. Richard is a former General Counsel of Quiznos and currently sits on its Board of Managers of both Quiznos and Smashburger. In addition to being an entrepreneur and restaurateur, Mr. Schaden is an internationally renowned aviation attorney and was the founding partner of the aviation and public interest law firm of Schaden, Katzman, Lampert & McClune. In preparation for legal cases, Mr. Schaden conducted extensive engineering flight tests on numerous general aviation aircraft. Richard is also the former Chairman of the Space and Technology Section of the Michigan Bar. Early in Richard's career, he worked for the Boeing Airplane Company as a flight test engineer. Richard also sits on the Vision Circle of the X Prize Foundation, which is an educational non-profit whose mission is to create radical breakthroughs for the benefit of humanity thereby inspiring the formation of new industries, jobs and the revitalization of markets that are currently stuck. |

Experience Since 2006, Mr. Lee has been in-house counsel to RFS Investments, LLC, a private holding company whose subsidiaries and related companies include Quiznos,Smashburger, Consumer Capital Partners, Boulder Aviation Management, Beyond the Edge, Escape Dynamics, and Beyond Aviation. In addition to being General Counsel, Mr. Lee serves as a Manager and Chief Financial Officer of RFS Investments. Mr. Lee serves as Officer, Manager, General Counsel, Board Member, and/or Advisory Board Member on many of the direct and indirect investments and related companies of RFS Investments, including Escape Dynamics, where Mr. Lee serves as Manager/CEO, Treasurer, and Project Manager. Prior to joining RFS Investments, Mr. Lee spent the first decade of his legal career in private practice representing business owners and high net worth individuals as a partnership, corporate, tax, and transactional attorney. As legal counsel to his clients, Mr. Lee assisted in all phases of their businesses, including start-ups, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, executive compensation, tax and business planning, tax compliance, and financing. SHAUN MAGUIRE Co-founder and Advisor of Escape Dynamics, LLC Education B.A. (2007) in Mathematics from the University of Southern California; M.Sc. (2008) in Statistics from Stanford University; Ph.D. candidate in Mathematics at Caltech expected to graduate in 2014. Expertise Mr. Maguire is a brilliant mathematician from Caltech. Shaun's research involves modeling perturbed stochastic manifolds, integration and analysis of large data sets, and control and dynamics problems. Shaun has also done research in probabilistic graphical models, image processing with defense applications, extremely short-term option market price prediction (~200 microseconds) and on applications of matrix completion. Mr. Maguire's background is non-traditional and his interests are extremely broad. He grew up surrounded by entrepreneurs and spent his childhood learning from them through osmosis. Shaun also has an insatiable curiosity -- especially regarding foreign cultures. He structured his schooling in a way that allowed him to travel around the world and he has visited over 60 countries. These diverse experiences give him unique insight and a wide perspective. Currently Mr. Maguire is on the leave of absense from Caltech, while working at the Defense Advanced Projects Agency (DARPA) in Washington, DC. |

Joseph T. Meyerowitz Co-founder and Advisor of Escape Dynamics, LLC Education B.S.E. in Electrical and Computer Engineering & B.S. in Physics from Duke University; working towards Ph.D in biophysics at Caltech. Experience Joseph T. Meyerowitz has a broad range of experience across academia, industry, and government. Before coming to Caltech, he worked for the research divisions of two different Fortune 500 companies, assisted with image operations for the Mars Exploration Rover mission at JPL, and helped with policy matters in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. Currently Mr. Meyerowitz is on the leave of absense from Caltech, working at the Defense Advanced Projects Agency (DARPA). His past academic research has spanned computational optics, nanotechnology, and information leakage in networked systems. Now, his focus at Caltech is on engineering robust biological circuits, with an eye towards applications in pharmaceutical and biofuel production. |

HARRY ATWATER Howard Hughes Professor and Professor of Applied Physics and Materials Science at Caltech Education B.Sc. (1982), M.Sc. (1983) and Ph.D. (1987) in physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Expertise Professor Atwater's research interests center around two intertwined themes: photovoltaics and renewable energy, and plasmonics and metamaterials. Atwater and his group have been active in photovoltaics research for more than 20 years. Recently, they have pioneered new fabrication approaches to III-V semiconductor multijunction cells, and have actively researched projects on III-V thin film cells, silicon wire array solar cells, silicon thin film cells and plasmonic light absorber structures. Professor Atwater currently serves as Director of the Caltech Center for Sustainable Energy Research, Director of the Center for Light-Material Interactions, a DOE Energy Frontier Research Center, and a Director of the Resnick Institute. Professor Atwater has consulted extensively for industry and government, and has actively served the material science community in various capacities, including Material Research Society Meeting Chair (1997), Materials Research Society President (2000), AVS Electronic Materials and Processing Division Chair (1999), and Board of Trustees of the Gordon Research Conferences. He has served on the Department of Energy, Office of Science, Division of Materials Sciences Visiting Committee; Stanford University Department of Materials Science and Engineering Visiting Committee. Atwater is founder and chief technical advisor for Alta Device, a solar energy company, and Aonex Corporation, a compound semiconductor materials company. |
